Happy New Year, Karma and Birdbath Ideas

The Birdhouse Chick would like to wish everyone a very happy and healthy New Year filled with many blessings! We hope to involve more folks in the great hobby of backyard birding through our unique and innovative products, most of which are just plain fun! Okay, that’s the happy new year part.

Karma: It’s been a wonderful year for our company, amazing growth and best of all, lots of repeat customers and referrals. Especially the Christmas Season, we saw numerous very lucky birds and squirrels through the many birdhouses, feeders and accessories that were shipped for gifts. Now most of this is due to great customer service and a strong work ethic, but I think karma may have also has played a role here. Our own birds: eat better than us! And donations: a great many were generously given. Both monetary and physical, in the form of birdhouses and bird feeders for auctions and raffles.

One in particular, and we commend the The Girl Scout Troop #1014 of Riverside CA., was sent a great beginner’s birding package. There were birdhouse kits, a book for bird food recipes, actual materials and printouts for offering nesting materials to encourage birds to take up residence, and some ideas for creating an inexpensive birdbath. An easy ground bath, plus ideas for a hanging birdbath with a home made dripper to entice more birds.

It made us really happy to help this group with a donation of birding supplies.  And bravo to the adults who are getting children outside and involved with nature! Teaching about stewardship of our environment is critical for the next generation.
