fun squirrel feeders go recycled
Although some folks absolutely despise them, others derive great enjoyment from feeding squirrels. Each side must think the other is nuts… no pun intended.
If bird feeders are properly protected, you can feed the squirrels while keeping them out of birdseed effectively and permanently. Bird Feeder placement and baffles are the absolute answer. Even if you don’t have squirrel feeders, but do have pesky squirrels, baffles are still your answer!
Fun squirrel feeders like the traditional table and chair feeder shown here have now gone recycled. Poly lumber, or recycled plastic is guaranteed to never crack, split or fade. The quality is superb, making this one squirrel feeder that will last a lifetime.
And speaking of long-lasting, have you ever tried the squirrel logs instead of corn on the cob? They’re super cool because one Sweet Corn Log is equal to about twelve ears of dried corn. They’re actually compressed corn that’s easy to handle and feed. Less filling and more watching is always a good thing! Our guys love them, but you must be sure they are securely attached as our crafty critters have managed to steal them once in a while! Available in Sweet Corn, and Corn and Nut Flavors, the squirrel logs are definitely a must for your squirrel feeders.

Try This Food at Squirrel Feeders
Some folks despise them, for the pesky, destructive behavior their famous for. But others quite enjoy squirrel’s antics and even feed them out of kindness and maybe for entertainment too! Whether you love them or hate them, squirrel feeders are abundant in the marketplace. Crafted from wood, metal, and even recycled plastics, these designs will provide easy access (and sometimes not so easy) for squirrels to find food.
Many squirrel feeders are designed to hold corn cobs, as these are a favorite food for the little critters, (along with peanuts, birdseed, and suet). Squirrels are capable of consuming four times their weight in food in just one week, so the cobs can go pretty fast – usually needing to be replaced on a daily basis.
Corn Logs are a great alternative to traditional corn cobs. They’re basically compressed corn, and one log is equal to about twelve ears of corn. The corn logs around our house usually last about two to three weeks. But beware…the logs must be securely attached to the stake or pin on the squirrel feeder, because our crafty critters have managed to steal them every once in a while!

Fun Squirrel Feeders
Everyone likes squirrels, right?
They are cute, funny little animals that seem amazingly intelligent. They can figure out almost any kind of bird feeder, and unless you take extra steps to keep food protected and away from them, all bird feeders have the potential to become squirrel feeders. So, if squirrels are so smart, and we like them so much, why do we try to keep them out of our bird feeders? In a word, cost. Bird food can turn into very expensive squirrel food…and might fast too. The little guys can eat about ten times their weight in just one week!
The answer may be to provide some deterrents in the way of squirrel feeders for your furry friends. There are a variety available, and they can be filled with inexpensive feed such as; corn on the cob, cracked corn, whole peanuts, or wildlife mix that will keep them entertaining you for hours. Squirrels are also grateful for many foods that might otherwise become trash — over-ripened fruit, and stale nuts, for example, are a particular treat. And by directing them to a ready supply of food, you may deter squirrels from searching further (and chewing up things like your trashcans).
